Common Questions & Answers

What is the investment for custom invitations?

Investments start at $1,500 for a custom invitation suite. Suites can be build and customized for what each couple wants. Your final quote will depend on the intricacy of the design, the specific items needed, and your timeline. Every project is custom-quoted to fit your vision—we’ll never include anything you don’t need, and we’ll make sure what you do invest in feels meaningful, luxurious, and entirely you. This is a full-service, highly personalized experience using high quality materials that reflect the heart of your celebration.

What’s included in a custom suite?A basic invitation suite typically includes your invitation, an envelope with addressing, an RSVP card with return envelope, and a details or insert card. From there, we can build a cohesive paper story that carries through your entire celebration—from save the dates to day-of details like menus, place cards, and signage, all the way to thank you cards.

Can you accommodate a short timeline?
Yes, we can! While we recommend reaching out 6–9 months before your wedding date for the fullest range of options, we understand that timelines can vary. If you're working within a shorter window, don’t hesitate to contact us—the sooner we connect, the more we can do to make your vision happen beautifully and on time.

How can I get the Keepsake Box?

The Keepsake Box is an optional upgrade available to all QB couples. After your wedding stationery design is finalized, the box can be added to your order as a beautiful finishing touch. Keepsake Boxes begin at $125.

About the
Artist

I’m Michaelene, the owner and head designer of QueenBee Design Studio.

I grew up in the quiet charm of Cherry Valley

(a blink-and-you-miss-it kind of town) but it felt like a hidden gem to me. I spent my days sketching wildflowers, painting golden hour skies, and turning everyday moments into tiny works of art. Even then, I was always chasing beauty, one brushstroke at a time. My parents used to joke that there weren’t enough coloring books in the world to keep me busy. That love for art stayed with me, and eventually led me to earn my degree in graphic design and marketing, with a minor in fine arts.

Starting QueenBee was my way of combining creativity with connection. I wanted to design wedding stationery that felt like more than just paper. I wanted it to feel personal, meaningful, and true to the couple it represented. Every design starts with a story, and I love helping couples bring theirs to life in a way they can hold onto forever.

These days, when I’m not designing, you’ll find me playing with my three boys around our little farm, seeing the world through their creative eyes. I’ve been married to my best friend for nine years, and I carry that love and life experience into everything I create. My work is rooted in the belief that people deserve to feel seen, celebrated, and special.

About the
Studio

QueenBee Design Studio opened its doors 14 years ago, but the heart of it started much earlier as a college project inspired by a moment I’ll never forget. I was standing under the fluorescent lights of a big box craft store, staring at rows of wedding invitations that felt cold, cookie-cutter, and nothing like us. I remember thinking, “Is this really all there is?” I felt completely overlooked, like just another number in a sea of brides.

That experience sparked something in me. I began working with couples one-on-one to not only bring their vision to life, but to truly listen to their story. From there, I started designing invitations that captured more than a theme or a color palette. I focused on their style, their relationship, and the small, meaningful details that made their story unique.

Since then, I’ve tucked paw prints into invitation artwork for beloved pets, matched color palettes to the dress she wore the night they met, and added favorite lyrics and poetry lines that hold special meaning. That’s what QueenBee is all about—making sure the paper feels just as personal as the promise being made.

Today, QueenBee is a three-time award-winning design studio with work sent worldwide. We’ve become a trusted partner in the wedding industry, working seamlessly with planners and venues to support the overall vision of the day. With a background in both art and communication, I bring creativity, clarity, and reliability to every project, keeping revisions to a minimum, always meeting deadlines, and contributing to a thoughtful, cohesive experience from start to finish.
